A nice watch indeed, but 2 years ago I passed on it. While the dial is well done, i somehow missed „depth“. A slightly sunken subdial for the seconde foudroyante, like the Breguet 5247 or also Jaquet Droz Grand Seconde offer, would have added the desired

It satisfied a enduring urge to have a chronograph and here was one I could afford. It sports a cam-actuated Valjoux 7733 in this lovely stainless pillow case. I bought it on a black leather sport band but soon changed it for the ss bracelet that it is on

I find both have a Jaquet-Droz vibe to them.

To thinking a lot of it has to do with patina, material and use of space and volume. Raised markers rather than stamped. Multiple levels to the dial. It all works together to create a landscape. And this watch has all of that. This is what sets Lange and
